We offer many cosmetic procedures such as all porcelain crowns, veneers and tooth whitening. With porcelain crowns and veneers, we are able to create a more esthetically pleasing look to one's front teeth. Often times if a patient has slight discolored, chipped, or misaligned teeth, we can correct these problems with all porcelain products. A crown covers the entire surface of one's tooth, and a veneer only covers the front surface of the tooth. Treatment needs and options are dictated by the existing condition of the teeth.

Tooth whitening is a great service that we provide for our patients. We first take impressions of the patient's teeth in order to make custom trays that fit snuggly in their mouth. Next, the whitening gel is placed into the tray and the patient wears this nightly for 1-2 hours. Most cases can see visual change in 7-14 days.

InvisalignInvisalign is a technology used to straighten teeth, without the patient having to wear metal braces. Clear, virtually invisible aligners are used and worn by the patient anywhere from 6-18 months in duration. Patients can straighten their teeth to improve their smiles, all while enjoying the normal comforts of everyday life without braces.

Periodontics (Gum Therapy): Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing

During your initial comprehensive exam, we will also perform an exam on your gum tissue. In this exam, we take a series of measurements of your gum tissue in order to determine your periodontal health. If these measurements indicate deep pockets of tissue surrounding your teeth, then gum therapy or scaling and root planing may have to be initiated. If periodontal disease goes untreated, the patient risks losing teeth in the future due to recession, bone loss, and mobility of their teeth.

Prosthodontics: Dentures and Partials

In order to create more chewing function and to improve a person's smile, dentures or partials can be fabricated. Full dentures serve to replace every tooth in one's dentition, while partial dentures serve to replace those teeth missing around one's existing dentition.

Oral Surgery: Extractions

Most all extractions that are needed by our patients are treated here in the office. Occasionally there are decayed/fractured teeth which may require an oral surgeon's care. In this event, a referral form would be given to the patient. Dr. Bumgarner also prefers to refer impacted wisdom teeth to the oral surgeon's office as well.

Endodontics: Root Canal Therapy

All teeth have a nerve and blood supply that runs down each root and in the center of the tooth itself. If a tooth becomes infected due to a deep cavity, or if the nerve has been traumatized, a root canal may need to be performed. A root canal procedure involves removing this soft tissue from the inside of the tooth/roots and cleaning out any active infection. A filling material is then inserted into each of the root spaces. After the root canal is completed, a tooth is best served by placing a crown over it to provide strength.

Emergency Care

If you are experiencing tooth pain or another oral emergency, we do offer appointments for emergency care. Please contact our office as soon as the pain/problem occurs, and we would be more than willing to help diagnose your emergency. Weekend emergency care is reserved for patients of record only.
